The 2003 winner of the prestigious European Publishers Award for Photography was Greek photographer Haris Kakarouhas.
The photographs were taken during Haris’s extended visits to Cuba, where he spent almost a year living in Havana.The book is full of images with a richness of colour and a warmth and a sensuality that convey a real feeling for the island and for the daily lives of its inhabitants. The book combines portraits of great beauty with still lives and interiors.
Born in Athens, Haris Kakarouhas has been involved in photography for the last twelve years. He studied Cartographic Design at the University of Thessaloniki, before doing an MA in Colour Theory and Visual Perception at the University of Glasgow.
